I'm going private and we're moving!!!!

I just feel the need to go private in a few weeks.

Please leave a comment with your email if you'd to read my blog.

Just a warning: I don't blog often, but I would like to get back into the habit.

My husband just got a great job in Bakersfield, California, teaching Chemistry at a new high school. He loves his job. He loves the kids and has such a great repore with them. During the week, Troy lives in Bakersfield, commuting home on the weekends. This will be temporary as we have found a nice house to rent and will be joining him shortly.

We are excited for this adventure, yet sad because we must leave our friends. We are going to miss them.

Bakersfield has many wonderful things and people. It's been pretty interesting going through this whole moving process. I've learned so much about attitude and life this last month. I am very much in touch of the reality that this is hard, but at the same time I know without a doubt that I can make any situation the very best. My attitude is everything!

As we've been searching for houses and areas to live in, I get excited for a new start and more space. We found a great house with a big back yard in an area that would meet our needs like they did in Davis: great schools, a university close by, bike and running trails, a big park with tons to do, and a nice cycling community that I will soon join. All of these things are within a short distance from us. And to top it off, a lot of my family and friends live here, including my really good friend Cheryl that I met in Davis...so exciting!!! This is going to be fun.

I know there are many good things waiting for us. You can make any situation the very best. We are going to take advantage of the opportuniites that come our way in Bakersfield. I have no doubt that I have more growing and learning to do in our new city and I look forward to it.

I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father for his blessings. I'm so grateful for my husband and kids. They are the best things that ever happened to me. We are happy and growing and learning together everyday. I'm so grateful for Jesus Christ and his understanding of ALL things. I have turned to Him often in my life and have felt his healing power. Life is so wonderful and full of challenges, but how grateful I am to know that I can do anything hard with the Lord by my side. My Faith is growing.

I'm so grateful to be able to go to the temple and the peace I feel from doing service there. It has brought me much happiness, comfort, and answers to my prayers during the trials in my life such as moving.

I can't wait to post about our adventures. We are surrounded by some pretty cool places that I just know we will explore.

Brielle singing

Brielle's been taking guitar lessons now for quite a while and really loves it!! She's been writing songs and even formed a rock band with her siblings. Each kid has their own thrift store guitar and all of mom's pots and pans. It gets pretty loud around here as they rock out, but I LOVE it!!! Oh to be a kid again! Here's one of my favorite songs:

Los Angeles Temple

We were in Bakersfield last week getting our house ready to move in. While we were there, Troy and I took Brielle and Aaron with us to the Los Angeles Temple on Saturday. Troy and I switched off while the other one took the kids around the temple grounds and through the vistor's center. I LOVE the Los Angeles Temple. I did baptisms there as a youth and that's were my testimony of Temple work started.

Loved my mission and this is why...

Years ago I met a wonderful man name Ricardo from Peru while tracting with my companion Hermana Aragon from Mexico. We knocked on Ricardo's door and began teaching him. He was a pretty tough investigator and very committed to becoming a Priest in the Catholic Church. But this faithful man was baptized. Just recently Ricardo sent me this email:

Hi Ixchelle. How are you and your family doing? I thought you would like to know that yesterday I went to the Temple for the first time. It was definitely a pleasant experience and I expect to be able to often. I want to thank you so much for bringing the Gospel into my life. If your companion Elizabeth (Aragon) keeps in touch with you via Face book or email, could you also give her this message, please? I owe both of you a debt which I will never be able to repay. The Lord bless you and your posterity all the days of your life. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

What an amazing man with amazing faith. Love this Man and love his humility.

I am creating a profile on Mormon.org in hopes to share the Gospel with others. Check it out folks. You too can share the Gospel with others and help someone come closer to Christ.

Loading up on the Carbs for this...

I am running my first Half-Marathon tonight at 8pm. I've trained hard for this big day. It's amazing what your body can do when you try something new. I love running I find it therapeutic. Looking forward to beating the central valley mid-summer heat and running with the moon.
